Acceptable Use Policy
Effective July 7, 2026
Overview
BuildsDrop is a developer tool for sharing mobile application builds with testers and collaborators. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines how you may and may not use the Service. Violating this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of access without notice.
2. Prohibited Uses
You must not use BuildsDrop to distribute:
- Malware and malicious software — including viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, adware, rootkits, keyloggers, or any code designed to harm, spy on, or take unauthorized control of a device.
- Pirated or cracked software — unauthorized copies, modified versions bypassing licensing, or software with license restrictions removed.
- Infringing content — builds that reproduce copyrighted material without permission, or that infringe trademark or patent rights of any third party.
- Deceptive applications — apps designed to phish credentials, impersonate other apps or services, or mislead users about their purpose or origin.
- Illegal content — anything that violates applicable laws, including but not limited to CSAM, content that facilitates trafficking, or apps that enable illegal surveillance.
- Privacy-violating software — stalkerware or any app that covertly collects, transmits, or exposes personal data of users without their informed consent.
3. No Warranty — Upload at Your Own Risk
Builds are uploaded and distributed "as is" with no warranties of any kind. BuildsDrop does not inspect, endorse, or guarantee the quality, safety, or fitness of any uploaded build. Users who download and install builds do so entirely at their own risk.
We strongly recommend that recipients only install builds from developers they personally know and trust.
4. No Malware Scanning (MVP Notice)
BuildsDrop does not currently perform automated antivirus or malware scanning of uploaded files. This is a known limitation of the MVP release. Automated scanning is on the roadmap for Phase 3. Until then, the platform relies on users to comply with this AUP and on reports from the community to identify abusive content.
5. Operator Rights
The operator of BuildsDrop reserves the right to:
- Remove any build that violates this AUP, the Terms of Service, or applicable law.
- Suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these policies.
- Cooperate with law enforcement investigations involving content uploaded to the Service.
- Disclose information about uploads to the extent required by law or court order.
The operator is not liable for user-uploaded content and takes no responsibility for the builds shared through the Service.
6. Reporting Abuse and DMCA Takedown
If you discover content that violates this AUP or infringes your intellectual property:
- Copyright / DMCA: buildsdrop@gmail.com
- Abuse / malware reports: buildsdrop@gmail.com
- General support: buildsdrop@gmail.com
We aim to respond to takedown requests within 5 business days. Please include the URL of the content in question and a description of the issue.
7. Compliance with Apple & Google Policies
This Service is intended for distributing builds outside of the App Store and Google Play for legitimate testing and internal distribution purposes. Users are responsible for ensuring their use of BuildsDrop complies with Apple's Developer Program License Agreement (DPLA), Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement, and any other applicable platform policies.
8. Updates to this Policy
This AUP may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
